Andre Ayew to captain Ghana in AFCON qualifier against Mauritius

Swansea City star Andre Ayew will captain the Black Stars in their 2017 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius next month following the absence of skipper Asamoah Gyan.

Gyan has been ruled out of the two games following an injury he sustained whiles playing for his Chinese side Shangai SIPG.

The mantle has fallen on deputy skipper Andre Ayew to lead the Black Stars in the game to be played on June 5.

Ghana will secure a place at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon if they are able to get a draw against Mauritius.
