Black Starlets European tour nation yet to be confirmed

The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association, today confirmed the Black Starlets, Ghana’s national under-17 team will embark on an European tour to continue with preparations ahead of the FIFA world cup in India, but have not decided on the nation yet.

The Black Starlets have been in camp for almost two months as they prepare ahead of the global tournament.

Coach Paa Kwesi Faabin has emphasized on the importance of having an European tour experience to get the players acclimatized and test their strength against opponents from other continents.

“The National U17 side are in the final stages of their preparations for the World Cup to be played in India in October.

“The team is currently in camp at Prampram and will embark on a foreign training tour to boost the preparation for the competition.

“The destination of the pre-tournament will be confirmed in due course,” a statement on the GFA website read.

Ghana have been drawn in Group A with host India, Colombia from South America and the United States of America.

The two times world champions will be chasing their third trophy following triumphs in 1991 and 1995.

The FIFA Under-17 world Cup will begin on October 6th.
