Black Stars defeat World XI 4-2 in Vodafone Unity Match

Ghana’s Black Stars defeated the World XI 4-2 in the 2016 Vodafone Unity match on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Substitute Ebenezer Assifuah came off the bench to score two goals in the second half.

Bad boy Sulley Muntari got a consolation for the World XI before ex-Nigerian international Yakubu Ayigbeni made it level with an excellent strike to beat Mutawakilu Seidu in post the Black Stars.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey shot the Black Stars back into the lead after connecting a cross from Frank Acheampong.

Alfred Duncan gave the Black Stars a two-goal cushioning by scoring the fourth.

The game which was used to promote Peace ahead of the November general election saw a host of World stars parade at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The World XI had the likes of former Dutch international Edger David and ex-Arsenal attacker Nwankwo Kanu.

Ex-French international William Gallas and Cameroonian star Alexander Song all featured for the World XI.
