Valencia have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan for the season.

Belgium international Batshuayi, who joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2016, spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

"Valencia have reached an agreement with Chelsea FC for the transfer of Michy Batshuayi until the end of this season," Valencia said in a statement.

Batshuayi, 24, scored five goals in his first three matches at Dortmund, leading the Bundesliga club to express hopes that they could sign him permanently.

However, their loan deal did not include an option to buy, and reports say the same will apply to the arrangement that sees him move to La Liga.
