FC Copenhagen boss Stale Solbakken has tipped Ghanaian international Daniel Amartey for a bright career describing Leicester's signing of him as a major steal.

The Copenhagen coach has also predicted that Amartey will be a top target for the big clubs in the coming years.

Solbakken trained Amartey during his time with Copenhagen in Denmark before he joined Claudio Ranieri's Leicester in January.

Amartey, 21, won his first piece of silverware in England in under six months, making five appearances as Leicester won the EPL title.

"I am more surprised no other Premier League teams fought to buy him,' Solbakken was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"I think Leicester scouted the right man and he will only get better and better as a footballer.

"In Kobenhavn, no one can speak highly enough of him, on and off the pitch. He steadily became better and better every month.

"In two or three years’ time Leicester will be on their knees praying that he signs a new contract."

Solbakken added: "I think Ranieri sees some of the things I say here as he plays every time now as Drinkwater’s shadow on the pitch, doing the dirty work and playing the safe passes.

"He lets the offensive player express himself. He came to Leicester when the team were winning every week and Kante was playing in his best position. But he has gradually developed into a Premier League player."

Daniel Amartey has made eight league appearances so far this season in an average start for the EPL champions.
