Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary: We will fight for a World Cup place

Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary says his side will not give up on their quest to qualify for next year's World Cup in Russia.

The Pharaohs are in pole position to qualify for their first World Cup since `1990 after defeating Uganda 1-0 at the Alexandria Stadium on Tuesday.

Egypt are top of Group E with 9 points with two matches to go.

Veteran goalie El-Hadary, who has inspired the side in the qualifiers says they will make it to the World Cup.

“The World Cup is a dream that we need to reach out for, the fans and all the Egyptian sports community have to back us up,” ONSport satellite channel.

“Every single player in the Egyptian squad has his heart set on the same dream, and by all means this is not an easy time for any of us.

“We will not give up on the World Cup dream, this is something the Egyptian fans want more than anything,” he added.

Egypt are first with 9 points with Uganda following with 7 points. Ghana and Congo are third and fourth with 5 points and 1 point respectively.
