Ghanaian players abroad: Andre, Jordan, Acquah, Acheampong, Lloyd Sam and Nyarko all on target

Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew was on target in the English Premier League on Saturday as his Aston Villa side lost by two late goals against Watford.

Jordan put Aston Villa ahead in the second half after a 1-1 first half scoreline but two goals from Troy Deeney in additional minutes saw home team Watford grab all three points from relegated Aston Villa.

Jordan played 79 minutes of the game before he was replaced by Carlos Sanchez.

Andre Ayew scored a brace against Liverpool in the Premier League as his Swansea City team won by three goals to one at the Liberty Stadium. The Black Stars vice-captain who was used as a striker in the game scored the first and third goal for Swansea, playing in the full duration of the home win.

Jeffrey Schlupp started the Premier League game for Leicester City against Manchester Unnited as they were denied the title at Old Trafford.

Schlupp and his team went into the game needing just three points to clinch the Premier League title but Manchester United held the league leaders to a 1-1. Daniel Amartey was an unused substitute in the game.

Abdul Baba Rahman and his Chelsea team could however win the league title for Schlupp and Amartey if they secure a win or draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

In the Italian Serie A, Afriyie Acquah scored for Torino as his away side convincingly defeated Emmanuel Agyamang-Badu’s Udinese on Saturday.

Both Ghanaian players played the full duration of the game that saw Torino win by five goals to one away at Udinese.

Kwadwo Asamoah started and played 85 minutes for Juventus in their home fixture against Carpi on Sunday. Asamoah faced another Ghana international Isaac Cofie as his Juventus team won by two goals to nil.

Jeventus retained their Serie A title last Monday after Roma defeated Napoli.

Kevin-Prince Boateng was an unused substitute in AC Milan’s 3-3 draw at home to Frosinone.

Alfred Duncan played the full game for Sassuolo in their 1-0 home victory against Hellas Verona.

In the Spanish La Liga, Thomas Partey helped Atletico Madrid go top for a short while with their 1-0 home winn against Rayo Vallecano. The Ghanaian started the game and played in the full duration for his Atletico team.

Mubarak Wakaso played 77 minutes for Las Palmas in their 3-2 away defeat at Granada. The Ghanaian midfielder received a yellow card booking in the game.

Bernard Mensah was an unused substitute as his Getafe team won their away game to Deportivo La Coruna by two goals to nil.

In the French Ligue 1, Abdul Majeed Waris missed FC Lorient’s home defeat against Lille on Saturday. Frank Acheampong was on target in Belgium in the league play off game against Gent. The Ghanaian scored the second of two goals as his Anderlecht team won by two goals to nil at home. Acheampong played in the full duration of the game.

In Turkey, Samuel Inkoom made an 80th minute appearance for Antalyaspor in their 1-0 win over Konysaspor. Samuel Eto’o scored the only goal of the game.

Ebenezer Assifuah played 75 minutes for Sion in Switzerland as they lost by two goals to one against Basel.

In the Major League Soccer in the United States of America, Dominic Oduro played the full game for Montreal Impact as goals from Didier Drogba and Maxim Tissot earned a 2-2 draw against Colorado Rapids on Saturday. The Ghanaian came off the bench to score for Monreal Impact last Thursday.

Adam Kwarasey missed Portland Timbers game against Toronto FC with a finger injury. The goalkeeper is expected to be out for a month.

Lloy Sam scored for New York Red Bulls in their home game against FC Dallas on Sunday. The Ghanaian scored the first of four as Red Bulls convincingly defeated Dallas by four goals without reply. Lloyd Sam was replaced by Alex Muyl after 72 minutes of play.

Patrick Nyarko scored for DC United in their 1-1 draw away from home to David Accam’s Chicago Fire. Nyarko equalized in the second half after Chicago Fire had taken a first half lead.

David Accam who has been out injured made the bench for the game but could not get some playing time.
