Jordan Ayew set to depart Aston Villa for Marseille

Ghana and Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew is on the verge of returning to France to re-launch his career following his dwindling form in the English Championship.

The 24-year-old, who joined Villa last summer, has struggled to hit the ground running this season scoring only three goals in as many as 15 appearances in the Championship.

Reports have linked Ayew to French Ligue 1 giant Olympiaue Marseille where he scored 14 goals in 111 games.

La Gazette des Transferts reported on Monday that the Aston Villa striker had rejected a move from Saint-Etienne due to the 2016 Africa Cup of Nations.

Further checks reveal he will welcome a deal from his mother club Olympiaue Marseille with the hope of returning to his best form.
