MATCH REPORT: Obeng-Ampem’s double sinks Inter Allies

Prince Obeng Ampem scored in each half as WAFA extended their lead at the top of the table with another emphatic win.

 

The Academy boys beat Inter Allies for the first time in the Ghana Premier League  2-0 at the Sogakope Complex.

 

The home side began the game brightly scoring a quick goal in the fifth minute through Prince Obeng Ampem. Ampem doubled the lead in the 54th minute before being substituted in the 80th minute.

 

WAFA were dominant throughout the game creating chances especially in the first half but failed to bury most of them.

 

The league leaders returned in the second half stronger and a Majeed Ashimeru defense splitting pass found Prince Ampem who chipped the ball pass Allies goalkeeper Kwame Baah.

 

Coach Prince Owusu made the first of his changes by bringing on Abdul Malik for Isaac Osae but it did not make any significant impact as the Sogakope based side were just imperious.

 

Togolese import Komlan Agbedniadan combined well with Daniel Lomotey upfront causing a lot of problems for the Accra based side but did little with the chances that came their way.

 

With the three points looking like secured the Academy boys thrilled fans with their intricate passing football full of dexterity and panache.

 

Majeed Ashimeru nearly made it three before the final whistle but his effort was blocked by Wahab Akwei.

 

WAFA end the first round top of the table.
