Ghanaian trio Jeffery Schlupp, Daniel Amartey and Joe Dodoo could soon be joined by Nigerian international, Ahmed Musa after it was confirmed that the English Premier League club have made a substantial offer for the CSKA player. CSKA coach Leonid Slutsky confirmed the offer on Russian television but declined to mention whether the offer has been accepted.

It is unclear whether Musa's arrival would mean a loan move for U-21 striker Joe Dodoo as the club have also sold Andre Kramaric to Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim.

Leicester vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said last week that he expected the club to make three or four signings this summer after winning the Premier League, and they have now revived their interest in Nigeria international Musa who they came close to signing in January.

Speaking on “Kult Tura,” a light-hearted Russian TV show, CSKA boss Slutsky indicated that the Foxes have made a significant offer for Musa, 23, and he expects negotiations to continue.

When it was put to Slutsky that Russian Premier League winners CSKA’s squad was worth more than English champions Leicester’s, Slutsky joked: “Oh, so that’s why Leicester want to buy Musa. They want to overtake us.”

He said they offered “a bit less” than €30 million (£22.76m) and, asked if he was preparing to play without Musa next season, replied: “He came to me and asked when we start the training sessions after the vacation. I told him: ‘What do I know? I am not Ranieri!'”

On whether Leicester have already restarted negotiations, he said: “I don’t know exactly what they do.

“English clubs like to take their time in the transfer window and chase all kind of Ibrahimovics, but I think the chances are high.”
