Sweden based Portia Boakye will captain the Black Queens in their group opener against Kenya on Sunday at this year's African Women's Championship in Cameroon.

The former Fabulous ladies player will lead the team following coach Yusif Basigi's decision to leave out substantive captain  Safia Abdul Rahman in the starting eleven.

Black Queens who are runners up on three occasions since the inception of the competition will be hoping to start on a good note as they seek to finally break Nigeria's dominance.

They are in Group B with Nigeria, Mali and debutants Kenya.
