Qatar juniors set for clash with China, England at Toulon International Championship

Toulon: Qatar will play China on Tuesday at the Toulon International Championship where the Al Anabi juniors will clash with England on Friday.

The match against China will be Qatar’s second game after they lost to Mexico (4-1) in the first match. In the same group, England beat China 2-1.

There are 12 teams in the tournament, divided into three groups. The first group includes Qatar, Mexico, England and China.

The second group includes France, South Korea, Scotland and Togo. The third group includes Canada, Japan, Portugal and Turkey.

The first and second teams from each of the three groups will reach the quarter-finals, while the rest of the teams play for positions from ninth to 12th. The tournament only open for players born in 1997 and beyond.

The Qatari team is participating in the event to prepare for the AFC U-19 Championship to be held in Indonesia from 18 October to 4 November.

Qatar will start their Asian Cup 2018 match against UAE on Oct. 18. In the second game, Qatar will face Indonesia on Oct. 21 before taking on China’s Taipei team on the 24th of the same month.
