Qatar Sports Club must look to maintain their fighting form they exhibited in the last two rounds of Qatar Stars League (QSL), coach Sebastiao Lazaroni said on Saturday.

Qatar SC, who have been battling relegation fears, have beaten El Jaish and played a feisty draw against former champions Al Gharafa in their last two rounds of QSL.   “It will be a very tough game. We have to be extra vigilant on the pitch and play with concentration and focus,” Lazaroni said ahead of round 13 clash on Sunday against Al Wakrah.

“We are presenting a much better rhythm and form and we have to maintain our good play,” the Brazilian added.   “We have preparing more on the outside than on the inside,” Lazaroni said.   With a back-to-back games for the 13th-placed Qatar SC this week, Lazaroni pointed out lack of adequate rest for is players.

“When I speak about the timeframe between the matches, I point out to the need for training and recovery in order for the players to give their 100 percent,” Lazaroni explained.   “Sometimes we don’t have the chance to grant the players even one day of rest. And we know rest is always very helpful for the players,” he said.   “The team is performing better in the attacks and we are playing like a unit. Our aim to continue in the same manner until we accomplish our aim,” Lazaroni said.   “We are still in a very tough position with some issues need to be looked at on the mental and physical sides of play,” the coach said.

Commenting on Al Wakra team, Lazaroni said: “Al Wakra have some distinguished players such as their fierce striker Sasha, Muhsen Metwally and Hussein Yasser … therefore we have to respect such a team and their performance.”
