Tom Stand quits as Olympics Coach as relegation stares club

Swedish tactician Tom Stand has resigned as Coach of Accra Great Olympics after just four months in charge of the club.

The Swede was appointed to help the club avoid the drop from the premier league but with four matches to end the season, Strand decided to part ways with the wonder club.

Tom Strand agreed with officials of the club to quit.

Accra Great Olympics are in a difficult situation as they find themselves on the 15th position with 27 points and might face the drop if they do not win the rest of their games.

The resignation of Tom Strand means Coach Godwin Attram will be assuming his former position as head Coach.

The Swede came in as Coach in controversial circumstances following the demotion of Godwin Attram who did not want to work with him.

With the situation controlled, Strand started brightly with wins against Kumasi Asante Kotoko but the momentum went down again as they faced a string of poor results including a 4-0 home loss to Tema Youth.

The former Medeama boss has now coach three different clubs in Ghana, including Bechem United and Great Olympics.

The Accra based side will next face Bolga All Stars when the Ghana Premier League returns.
