WAFA to host Kotoko on Wednesday in GPL outstanding fixture

Published on: 21 August 2017

West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) will host Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League outstanding fixture in Sogakope on Wednesday.

The game which was rescheduled following the Kumasi Asante Kotoko team bus accident will be cleared in midweek as the league nears a return after the one month break.

The Academy boys have been imperious at home and will want to put the Porcupine Warriors to the sword, having not lost a game at home this season.

WAFA, however, will be missing key players goalkeeper Razak Abalora and skillful midfielder Majeed Ashimeru with the former joining Azam FC in Tanzania as the later continues with his search for a club in Europe.

The sogakope based boys are in contention for the league title and a win may get them closer to their dreams.

Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors who have fully recovered from the unfortunate accident, will also be looking forward to fighting for all three points as they are still in the title race.

This will be Kotoko’s third competitive game following their return after the draw with Accra Hearts of Oak and the FA Cup win over Nea Salamina.
