Vice Chairperson of the national women’s league Roselyn Amoh expects increased competition and improved level of play in this year’s league.

The women’s league will begin this weekend with games from both the northern and southern zone scheduled to start.

Ampem Darkoa who are winners of the league have already began the year on a bright note after making history to become the first club to win the women’s super cup when they beat Police Ladies last week to usher in the new season.

Roselyn Amoh believes Ampem Darkoa winning the league last season will provide the club in the league an equal chance of grabbing the trophy too hence a high level of competition in the league.

‘’We expect it will be more bigger and better this season. Now, Ampem Darkoa having won the league last season, the others know it is possible to beat the big clubs,’’ she told Kwese TV.

Ms. Roselyn Amoh has high expectations of the performance of the players insisting there will be a level of qualification for people who coach in the women’s league.

“We also expect the performance of players to get better because we are implementing the instruction from the International football that if you don’t have a license B or C you can’t not coach a big team so these things when put in place we are sure will improve the standard of the league,’’ she added

‘’We have some of the national team coaches also agreeing to coach the teams. For instance when you go to lady strikers you have the assistant coach of the national team Rashid Iddi taking over, Ben Tuffour who is the assistant coach of the U-17 team also helping out with one of the clubs and then we have Coach Basigi also with Hasaacas ladies. So, I must say these are some of the things that will impact positively on the league.’’
