Wining the Under-20 was the greatest moment for me- Andre Ayew

Deputy Captain of the senior national team the Black stars, Andre Ayew says the greatest moment is his career was winning the FIFA under 20 world cup in Egypt 2009.

 

The Black Satellites defeated Brazil on penalties to lift Africa’s first ever world cup at the under 20 level.

 

Ayew who was the captain of the side reveals leading the team was “a big task” however winning the world cup was a dream come true.

 

 

“It was a great moment, captaining the team all the way, it was a big task for me especially stepping up to play the first penalty kick in the finals against Brazil,” he told FIFA TV.

 

“To me everyone was watching, my teammates were counting on me and I was very happy to set the pace by scoring,” he added.

 

“Winning that competition remains the most memorable moment in my Football career and I don’t think I will ever forget.”

 

Andre Ayew has gone on to establish himself as one of the best talents from the country and now plays for English Premier League side West Ham United.
