The group stage draw for the 2019 AFC Champions League was held at the AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, in the presence of the representatives of all particpating clubs.

Al-Sadd were drawn into Group D, alongside Persepolis (Iran), Al-Ahli (KSA) and the qualifier from the play-off involving Pakhtakor (UZB)/Air Force Club (IRQ) and Al-Nasr (UAE).
The Wolves exited the 2018 edition in the semifinal stage after losing to Persepolis 2-1 on aggregate.
