Doha: Al Rayyan have named Bulent Uygun as their new coach after parting ways with Argentinian Rodolfo Arruabarrena.
Uygun, who was in charge of Al Gharafa last season, is expected to be in Doha soon to take over the side.
Al Rayyan are presently fourth in the standings with 14 points, after Al Duhail (19), Al Sadd (17) and Al Sailiya (16).
Bulent, who also coached Umm Salal from 2013 to 2016, replaced Jean Fernandez at Gharafa from the start of second phase of 2017-18 season QNB Stars League and guided the team to a creditable fourth place.
Bulent had made it big at the club and country levels as an attacking midfielder. He had captained Fenerbahce, where he spent most of his club career, apart from playing for the Turkey national team 18 times.
