CHELSEA - Morata came close to leaving

Alvaro Morata says he came close to leaving Chelsea this summer after a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge.

“Missing the World Cup was a difficult time for me, but it doesn’t help anyone to think about the past," the Spaniard is quoted as saying in the Sun. "I’m going to do all I can to go to the next one. It was a difficult moment because I thought I was going to go. Clearly I thought about going back to play in Spain, or in Italy. Missing out on the World Cup made me consider it."I went [to Chelsea] to get to the World Cup, and I didn’t go. The last year wasn’t a happy one, it was a total disaster. I went on the pitch and I didn’t even know where I was.”
