Dyche expects Clarets response

Burnley boss Sean Dyche says he is expecting a response from his side as they prepare to face Wolves in the Premier League.

After just one point after five games at the start of the season the Lancashire outfit became serious candidates for the drop.

Burnley did manage to improve at the turn of the year but a run of four successive defeats prior to the international break has seen them dragged back into the midst of a relegation dogfight.

Dyche, who has his side just two points above the relegation zone regards the fact that so many teams are still in the mix as positive and has backed his men to edge away from the bottom three.

"It's a big fight scene at the bottom and varying results go different ways and all of a sudden it's tight down there," Dyche said.

"The main thing I reference, however, is that five games into this season we had one point and after 19 we had 12.

"People were scratching their heads, but now we have 30 and that's a big shift in the right direction, so we know we can do it and we know we can look after ourselves.

"We've put in performances to win and we've got to continue doing that. The main thing we've always tried to focus on, even in testing times, is ourselves.

"I've just referenced the stats, so there have been good signs. We've just had a bit of a blip, but that can happen to anyone in the Premier League."

Wolves are 13/10 to win, 11/5 to draw and 21/10 to lose against Burnley.
