Khalfan Ibrahim joins Al Rayyan from Al Arabi

Doha: Khalfan Ibrahim, the golden boy of Qatar football not so long ago, joined Al Rayyan after a one-year stint with Al Arabi, announced the Lions on Wednesday.

Khalfan, who joined Arabi after spending 13 years with Al Sadd with whom he won almost everything that has to be won including four Qatar Stars League titles, three Emir Cups and the AFC Champions League in 2011, only managed to show glimpses of his unmistakable talent with the Reds as he was troubled with injuries.

AFC player of the year in 2006 Khalfan went off the boil during his last couple of seasons at Sadd but now will get another opportunity to show his talent at Rayyan.

The club management thanked Arabi for their co-operation in completing the deal, which is considered the most prominent in the domestic arena during the current summer transfer period.
