Klopp waits on injured stars

Published on: 19 October 2018

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Mo Salah and Sadio Mane could miss Saturday's Premier League trip to Huddersfield Town.

Naby Keita, who has featured in all eight of the Reds' Premier League matches so far this season, will definitely miss the game against the Terriers but Virgil van Dijk has recovered from a rib problem and is available.

Keita sustained a muscle problem during Guinea's 1-1 draw against Rwanda on Tuesday while Salah picked up a groin injury on international duty with Egypt and Mane is recovering from hand surgery.

Van Dijk missed the Netherlands' 1-1 draw against Belgium last week but is set to feature against David Wagner's winless team.

"I am pretty sure that Naby will not be available. With the rest we have to see how it develops," Klopp revealed.

"Virgil would not leave a game without any major problems but it's settled quickly and that's how it is.

"Football players have to play very often with some kind of pain. It's all good, he has no problems with that anymore.

"It will not be an easy game, it will be the opposite. If we do our best, and do what we are good at, it will be difficult for Huddersfield. That is clear."

Liverpool, 9/4 to win the Premier League title this season, can be backed at 4/6 to keep a clean sheet against Huddersfield and at 5/1 to win the match 2-0.
