QSL Cup: Al-Sadd lose to Al-Rayyan in Round 2

A youthful Al-Sadd side fell to an 8-0 defeat to Al-Rayyan in the QSL Cup Group B – Round 2 fixture on Saturday.

The result means that Al-Sadd maintain their point tally of three, after registering a 3-0 win over Al-Shahaniya in the Round 1 game.

Al-Rayyan opened the scoring in the 6th minute through Luca Borges before Tabata added a second goal from the penalty spot in the 37th minute. Tabata then scored again in the 43rd minute to give his side a 3-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Mohammed Jumua got on the scoresheet to net Al-Rayyan’s fourth goal in the 53rd minute before Borges made it 5-0 in the 57th minute. Ahmed Abdelmaqsoud scored in the 61st minute and then Borges completed his hat-trick in the 71st minute. The last goal of the night was scored by Al Dokali Al Sayed in the 77th minute, which gave Al Rayyan the 8-0 win. Al-Sadd ended the game with ten men after Aladeen Younes was sent off in the 36th minute.
