Published on: 16 December 2018

The QSL Cup’s Round 4 matches will be played on Thursday and Friday, 20th and 21st December, as the QNB Stars League has taken a break due to preparations for the 2019 Asian Cup in the UAE.

The fixtures are Al Shahania vs Al Ahli (16:05) at Al Sadd Stadium, Al Sadd vs Al Khor (18:30) at Al Sadd Stadium and Al Rayyan vs Al Sailiya (18:30) at Al Arabi Stadium on Thursday, Al Duhail vs Al Arabi (16:05) at Al Duhail Stadium, Al Kharaitiyat vs Qatar SC (18:30) at Al Duhail Stadium and Al Gharafa vs Umm Salal (18:30) at Al Arabi Stadium on Friday.

Group B matches will be played on Thursday and Group A on Friday.

Al Shahania will open the round’s action by taking on Al Ahli. It will be followed by simultaneous kick-offs between Al Sadd and Al Khor and Al Rayyan and Al Sailiya.

Al Shahania have yet to open their account and are lying at the bottom of the table. They are the only side without a point in the group.

Jose Murcia’s men will face a tough task against Al Ahli, who are placed fourth with three points.

Al Sadd, third with four points, will also face a difficult challenge against Al Khor, who are second in the group with nine points.

Although Al Rayyan are also on nine points, they are placed first on better goal difference (13 as against Al Khor’s four).

Al Rayyan should have it easy against Al Sailiya, who are fifth in the group with just one point.

In Group A, Al Duhail take on Al Arabi in the first match on Friday. That will be followed by two simultaneous kick-offs — Al Kharaitiyat vs Qatar SC and Al Gharafa vs Umm Salal.

Al Gharafa, Al Duhail, Qatar SC and Umm Salal all have five points, but they are placed in that order on goal difference and by virtue of having scored more number of goals.

Al Kharaitiyat are fifth with three points, while Al Arabi have yet to open their account, having lost all three of their matches.
