Al Duhail coach Rui Faria spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 19 match against Umm Salal.
“As far as we are concerned, this is a very important contest. We started our preparations for this match on Thursday as we played against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the AFC Champions League on Tuesday.
“We are still in the battle for the title and we hope to have a positive result against Umm Salal. The team has to be ready for this and we know exactly how to play after the AFC Champions League engagement.
“We are certainly disappointed with our result against Al Hilal and we know that small details matter a lot in the AFC Champions League. We must prepare the players physically and psychologically. Despite the loss, there were some positives.
“We also know that there is a negative feeling being generated after our loss, but it is a fact that we showed character and were able to create a number of opportunities.
“The league has not yet been decided and there is hope. We must fight and should not give up. Umm Salal is an organised team,” said Faria.
