Xavi ruled out for four weeks after muscle injury

Al-Sadd Captain Xavi Hernandez has been ruled out of action after sustaining an injury while training with the team earlier this week.

Xavi underwent a medical examination which revealed the extent of the muscle injury in his right foot. He is now expected to take up to four weeks of treatment and recovery before rejoining the squad for training.

The first team is currently preparing for the resumption of the QNB Stars League, which will see the Wolves play Al-Khor in their Round 16 game on February 16 at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

Meanwhile, Al-Sadd’s Qatari international players rejoined the team for training on Wednesday, after the end of their rest which followed their Asian Cup triumph with the Qatar national team.
