Ghana Coach Avram Grant has for the first time named four local based players in his 23-man squad for the Black Stars 2017 AFCON qualifier with Mauritius next month. Ashantigold defender Mohammed Kadri received a first Black Stars invitation and he is expected to make his debut in the upcoming friendly against Guinea or next month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Mauritius.

The centre-back is said to have impressed head coach Avram Grant during the Local Black Stars friendly with Japan’s U23 side.

AshantiGold goalkeeper Fatau Dauda was restored into the Ghana squad.

Dauda was snubbed by Grant in the double decker qualifiers against Mozambique in March following a dip in form and will compete for a place in post with Wa All stars goalie Richard Ofori who also made Grant’s list.

Wafa winger Samuel Tetteh was retained in the squad to make up the four home based players Grant called up into the senior national team the black stars.

The team is expected to begin training in Accra on Monday May 30.

Coach Avram Grant and the team are expected to leave Accra on Wednesday to Mauritius for the game to be played at the Belle Vue.
