Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has been left out of Ghana's 23-man squad to face Mauritius in a 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier.

The midfielder returned to full fitness a couple of weeks ago but it appears Black Stars coach Avram Grant has decided that a swift return to the team is not ideal.

The Juventus ace has been plagued by niggling injuries since moving to Turin but he recovered in time to help the Italian giants claim a league and cup double.

The versatile player has also been linked with a summer move to Chelsea where his former manager Antonio Conte has taken charge of the team.

Interestingly, Asamoah is still yet to feature for the Black Stars under Avram Grant.
