Qatar SC will be looking to register their first win of the season when they take on fellow promoted side Al Markhiya on Saturday evening. Kings head coach Gabriel Calderon spoke to the local media ahead of the match.

The Kings are coming into the match, after being denied the points after a last-gasp Duhail winner in the final moments of their QNB Stars League opener. Despite the 3-2 defeat Calderon is confident his side can bounce back against Markhiya. “We played last seasons champions, and they are a very strong side and we lost in the game in the last minute. I am proud of how the team played, and I believe we will show the same spirit in our next match.”

“For us it’s It’s our second final. Our team played well but we didn’t take any points. We are playing another promoted side so for me it is a six pointer” added the Argentine coach when asked about the prospect of playing Markhiya.

Calderon ended the press conference suggesting that both sides could surprise in the QNB Stars League this season. “No body expected the performances from both sides in round one. Markhiya played very well, and I am expecting a tough match on Saturday.”
