QFA Hosts Ramadan Ghabga for Asian Communities

Doha: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) held a Ramadan Ghabga event for the Asian communities residing in Qatar in honour of their participation in QFA’s events and activities, specifically the Emir Cup 2018.

The Ghabga event was organised to thank the communities for their ongoing support, celebrate the spirit of Ramadan with the communities and strengthen relations with communities residing in Qatar.

The Ghabga took place at La Cigale Hotel on Sunday 3 June and was attended by Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications at QFA, Mohammed Bukhari, Corporate Relations Chairman at Indian Sports Centre (ISC), Nilangshu Dey, President of ISC, and Habeeb Nabi, General Secretary of ISC.

The Ghabga was also attended by representatives from Qatar Charity and Nepalese community, and Principals of the Indian and Bangladeshi schools in Qatar.

The hall was filled with a wonderful atmosphere in which the community members praised the annual gathering as it brought them closer together. Appreciation certificates were distributed to the attendees to thank them for their participation in the events organised by the QFA.

The Ghabga event closely reflects the 2021 vision of the QFA, and its commitment towards all segments of the community in Qatar including the Arab and Asian communities, and aims to strengthen its partnerships with the local community and promote community participation in football.

The QFA has excellent relations with all communities in general and the Indian community in particular. The QFA is keen to support all members of the communities by organising football-related activities for them in aim to promote the game of football and a football-loving culture.

The Indian community is one of the main communities that has a strong relationship with QFA which started 10 years ago when a football tournament was organised for the Indian community.

As part of its’ social responsibility strategy, the QFA previously organised many initiatives with the Indian schools in Qatar, and is expected to organise more programs and activities in cooperation with the Indian community for the school students.
