On this day AC Milan won his first Intercontinental Cup. The Rossoneri were defeated in the second leg against Estudiantes (1-2, goals by Rivera 30', Conigliaro 43' and Aguirre-Suarez 44') but they won the Cup strong by the victory (3-0) in the first leg at San Siro.
