Al Arabi have recruited Syrian defender Ahmed Saleh for the upcoming season.
The Dream Team, who finished seventh in the QNB Stars League with 24 points, had earlier retained the services of Croatian coach Luka Bonasic for one more season.
Ahmed’s signing comes in the wake of decision of the club management, headed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Jabor Al Thani, to strengthen the squad.
The 28-year-old, who last played for Chinese club Henan Jianye, started his senior career with Syria’s Al Jaish. He is also a regular with his national team.
Al Arabi will have their pre-season camp in Slovenia this year as well. They will play some friendly matches there as Bonacic aims to get his players in good shape well before the start of new season.
