Al Kharaitiyat relegated to Second Division after losing to Al Sailiya

Al Kharaitiyat were relegated to the Second Division following their 2-5 loss to Al Sailiya in Week 22 of the QNB Stars League at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Saturday.

It was Al Sailiya's 12th win of the season, while Al Kharaitiyat suffered their 17th loss.

Al Sailiya thus finished third, behind champions Al Sadd and Al Duhail.

Mauricio Ramos opened the scoring for Al Sailiya in just the fifth minute. Abdelhadi Ameen equalised for Al Kharaitiyat in the 51st minute.

Mohammed Muddather lifted Al Sailiya spirits in the 68th minute as his team raced to a 2-1 lead. Al Kharaitiyat's Valentin Lazar converted an easy penalty in the 78th minute as both sides were now level at 2-2.

However, Nadir Belhadj also fired a penalty to put The Peregrines 3-2 up by the 81st minute.

A minute later, Muddather scored his second goal of the match as Al Sailiya jumped to a 4-2 lead.

Abdulqadir Ilyas made it 5-2 in the 87th minute.
