The Al-Sadd first team resumed training today Thursday, at the club’s training centre, following the two-day rest that the players got after leaving the quarantine at Ritz-Carlton hotel. The squad is now in the second stage of the preparations for resumption of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League.

Earlier today, all squad members underwent a third COVID-19 test, including the players, administrative officials and technical staff, to ensure they were free of the coronavirus. This came as a prelude to entering the second stage of training.

Thursday’s training session witnessed the participation of all the players currently with the team, and they were divided into two groups according to the precautionary protocol implemented by the Qatar Stars League. Head coach Xavi Hernandez was keen on having the players train with the ball in small spaces.

Al-Sadd is expected to continue training with full force until the remaining first team players join and complete the squad, in preparation for the resumption of the league matches on July 26.
