Dreams FC manager Charles Akonnor is expecting a positive response from his team when they host Liberty Professionals in the week 12 fixture of the Premier League on Wednesday.

The Premier League debutants are eager to overturn thier poor showing in Dormaa on match day 11 against Aduana Stars.

Thier guests Liberty Professionals head to the Theatre of Dreams with just a point behind Dreams FC on the premier league log but manager Akonnor feels his team is poised to correct all wrongs on Wednesday.

“We’ve had a bit of rough edges in the process of our games, our last two matches or the last match was not really good,” he acknowledged.

“It is a bit of an obstacle for us but we’ve organised ourselves and we believe that we’ll come out very strong.

“We’ve had a review of the match and I think we were all very poor; technical team, playing body, everybody was poor and so there’s the need to improve and of course, come out very strong,” he told www.dreamsfc.com in a pre-match press briefing.

Akonnor however admits that it is important not to be discouraged in charging his side towards the general improvement of their performance.

“It is important that we are not discouraged but we’re strong and we understand that even though we cannot win every match, we must only fight hard to make it difficult for the opponent to win.”

“In the last match that wasn’t the case so yes, we’ve talked about it, we want to look at the opponent in a different perspective and we see them as a very strong side- a side that can go away and win.”

“We have that at the back of our minds but we’ll make sure we do well in every area of the game; midfield, defense because that is where we lacked in our last match and of course, attack – every department on the field in our last game and so we’re working very hard and I believe that whatever we’ve done so far will yield into a good result.”

The former Black Stars skipper reiterated the need to have seen his opponents play in their last game though he believes he’ll find a solution to the way they play.

“I had wished that I myself will see them for their outstanding match against Medeama SC but that didn’t happen,” he said.

“I’ve seen in their previous matches how they play defensively, how they attack but I would’ve preferred to see them fresh in their last match but unfortunately, they travelled very far and we thought they were going to play Medeama in the week which didn’t happen and so it’s a bit of disturb to us but we’ll find a solution to the way they play and will look back into what they’ve done in their previous matches and see how best we can stop them from functioning,” Akonnor added.

Manager Akonnor however admits his side will need to be wary of the constant threat of Latif Blessing who has netted eight times so far in this campaign.

“Of course, there Is a boy who’s with the Black Stars B – he’s scored eight goals so far. He’s very smallish, very smart, very sharp and an eye should be on him and when we do that then there will be a better solution for us to attack them and make sure we win,” he said of the Liberty attacker.

Dreams FC go into this game with a full squad with the return of captain Abdul Bashiru and Lawson Bekui who were away on national team duty. He also revealed that newly-signed striker Daniel Adade will be part of the team but unsure if he’ll start as he needs time to get on track.

Prosper is training but he’s not fully fit and there has been one or two signings or one signing at least who will also need time to get on track – I’m talking of Adade but he’ll be part of the team because we need players who are new to be closer to the team and know exactly what we’re doing but as to whether he will start I will say no but he’ll be part of the team.
