Egypt have returned to the top of Group E after beating Uganda 1-0 at Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab Stadium on Tuesday.

The Pharoahs laboured as Liverpool striker Mohammed Salah scored the only goal of the game in the first half.

Egypt before the game had lost the corresponding fixture 1-0 in Kampala last Thursday.

Uganda fought hard for the equalizer but the attacking prowess proved futile as Egypt held on clinch all three points in a keenly contested clash.

As it stands now in Egypt are top of Group E with 9 points, followed by Uganda with seven points whilst Ghana are third with five points. Congo lie bottom of the group with just a point.
