Ex-Italy PM Matteo Renzi's son passes trial with Serie A side Udinese

Published on: 30 July 2018

The son of former Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi has completed a successful trial with Udinese and has joined the club's Primavera side.

Francesco Renzi, 17, who plays as a striker, has been named in the 27-man squad, which will take part in two friendlies against Venzia's Primavera and Brian in Ampezzo -- where they will be staying until Aug. 13.

Tuscan-born former PM, Matteo Renzi, has never hidden his love for football and his love for Fiorentina is well-known.

He was the youngest PM in Italy's history when he took office in February 2014 at the age of 39. Renzi stepped down in 2016 after a constitutional referendum he had proposed failed to garner enough support.
