Al-Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira stressed on the diffucluty of his side’s upcoming QNB Stars League Round 15 clash against Al-Shahaniya, adding that it was crucial for the Wolves to win the game.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ferreira said: “Everyone knows that we will face a side that has proven its strength; we are only better than them on paper. Al-Shahaniya are capable of surprises. This game comes before the clash with Al-Duhail, which for me is the most important. I think both matches are difficult because of the schedule and fatigue.”
He added: “Al-Sadd are a big team and we are determined to keep on winning, as we really need a win to keep competing for the top spot.”
“Our players are at a professional level, both psychologically and physically. I don’t think that the game against Al-Duhail will occupy their thoughts when they play Al-Shahanyia.”
Ferreira further said: “We have a huge desire to win. The big win over Al-Gharafa gave us a big mental boost and now we need to play against Al-Shahaniya like how we did against Al-Gharafa.”
He also gave a green light with regards to captain Xavi, saying: “Xavi is ready to play against Al-Shahaniya after he recovered from the injury.”
Finally, the coach said: “We do not fear counter attacks. We won’t be sleeping such that Al-Shahaniya can use counter attacks against us.”
