Al Duhail and Al Rayyan are all set to battle it out in the one-off Sheikh Jassim Cup, which will be the perfect prelude to the 2018-19 football season in Qatar.
The match will kick off at the Al Sadd Stadium on Wednesday, 1st August, at 19:00.
If the teams are tied at the end of regular time, the game will be decided on penalties without extra time.
Sheikh Jassim Cup, the traditional season opener, is played between QNB Stars League champions and Emir’s Cup winners from the previous season. Since Al Duhail won both tournaments besides annexing the Qatar Cup, Emir’s Cup runners-up Al Rayyan got to play against The Red Knights.
Al Sadd are holders of the Sheikh Jassim Cup, having beaten Al Duhail last time.
The QNB Stars League is scheduled to start on Saturday, 4th August.
