Al-Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham expressed his delight with his side’s progression to the semifinals of the Amir Cup, after a penalty shootout win over Al-Wakrah.
Speaking after the game, Meshaal said: “We played a big match against a tough Al-Wakrah side. We managed to score two goals, but Al-Wakra did not surrender and worked to exploit our mistakes and succeeded in coming back, scoring two goals to take the match to a shootout.”
He added: “The Amir Cup championship is of great importance to us and we will strive to qualify for the final.”
