David Moyes said he would be interested in replacing Bruce Arena as the United States national team coach if he was presented with the opportunity.
Moyes, who has been out of management since saving West Ham United from relegation last season, has been linked to the opening, which has been filled by caretaker Dave Sarachan for the past 10 months.
General manager Earnie Stewart said earlier this month that he hopes to have Arena's replacement chosen by the end of the year but said he has not yet conducted any interviews.

"I would have to consider the USA job if I was approached because it's one of the big nations in world football, with massive growth potential," Moyes told the Sun. "They have a constantly improving league. You've got David Beckham's team coming into Miami and Nashville as well, so if it came up, I would have a real interest."
Moyes, who managed Everton for parts of 13 seasons, has no international managerial experience but has also been considered a potential replacement for Alex McLeish with Scotland.
He replaced Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United in 2013 but failed to last two full seasons before he was sacked. He lasted a year at Real Sociedad and could not avoid Sunderland's Premier League relegation in 2016-17 before replacing Slaven Bilic at West Ham on a six-month contract in November.
