1974: Mazzone's first victory in Serie A, the record-man of the benches
On 15 December 1974, on the tenth day of the 1974/75 Serie A, Carlo Mazzone's Ascoli won the first Serie A match in their history. The bianconeri won 1-0 at the "Del Duca" against Sampdoria, with Massimo Silva's goal after only 6 minutes. It was the first win in Serie A for the Roman coach, who is still the record holder in the Italian top division, with 792 appearances.
