Al Ahli face Umm Salal in Round 3 (Group B) of the 2020-21 season Ooredoo Cup at the Al Arabi Stadium on Wednesday. The kick-off is at 17:30.
Al Ahli are lying at the bottom of the group with no point after two rounds. So are Al Rayyan and Umm Salal, but The Brigadiers are placed last on goal difference (-6 as against -5 of both Al Rayyan and Umm Salal).
Al Rayyan found their place above Umm Salal having scored a goal, compared to the latter’s nil.
Al Ahli, who are currently leading the 2020-21 QNB Stars League table with nine points and an all-win record, lost their matches in this season’s Ooredoo Cup to Al Arabi (1-5) and Al Kharaitiyat (0-2). So they will be keen to make a turnaround when they meet Umm Salal.
The Orange Fortress had lost 0-2 to Al Gharafa in Round 1 and then 0-3 to Al Arabi. Umm Salal will also have a point to prove as they occupy the last position in the QNB Stars League standings after three weeks’ action.
