Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 4 match against Al Rayyan.
“We sought to benefit from the Ooredoo Cup matches and played with the basic formation of the team. Our preparations for this match were normal like all other matches, but they come after a break. We focused on preparing the team in the best possible way. And we are ready to face Al Rayyan.
“I know very well the strength of Al Rayyan, one of the teams that always compete strongly. It is certain that the game will not be easy like all league matches and the players must be in a state of intense focus to achieve a positive result.
“Al Wakrah are able to continue the good start that we have had at the beginning of this season’s league championship, although we lost the services of an important player (Khaled Muneer) to injury. At the same time, I still hope we will get support from new players,” said Marquez.
Al Wakrah player Ousmane Coulibaly said, “There is no doubt that it is going to be a big match because Al Rayyan are a very good team. It will not be easy, of course, but we must maintain our focus and believe that we can achieve a positive result in this match.”
