Jakarta: Persija Jakarta clinched the Indonesia Liga 1 title on Sunday, the final day of the season, with a 2-1 win over Mitra Kukar.
The win took Persija to 62 points, pipping PSM Makassar by just one point to the title.
The title means Persija will play in the preliminary round of the 2019 AFC Champions League, where they will try to navigate into the group stage after falling short in 2018.
Marko Simic was Persija's hero in the win over Mitra, scoring in the 17th and 59th minutes. Aldino Herdianto hit a consolation goal for Mitra in the 88th.
PSM Makassar, meanwhile, ended their season with a 5-1 win over PSMS Medan. The runners-up qualified for the 2019 AFC Cup.
