Al Duhail coach Djamel Belmadi spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Round 7 match against Al Khor.
“It’s important to achieve victory against Al Khor particularly since we dropped points for the first time after being held 1-1 by Al Gharafa. It’s also important because the QNB Stars League is going into a break for two weeks due to international commitments and we want to stay on top of the standings.
“Everyone is working hard to get back on track by defeating Al Khor. These three points are also a must for us. Al Khor are a tough team at home, so the game won’t be easy. As I said at the beginning of this season, teams in the middle or bottom half can cause trouble for those on top.
“We’ve seen many such instances. That demands us to go into this match with full concentration,” he added.
Al Duhail player Ismail Mohamed echoed their Algerian coach’s feelings.
“The match against Al Khor assumes significance as it comes before the break. We weren’t in good form against Al Gharafa and lost two precious points. We’ll play to win,” said Ismail.
