Al Sadd’s Akram Afif has been named as the QNB Stars League’s best player for the months of March and April, 2019.
Akram scored four goals and gave three assists in four matches (Weeks 19, 20, 21 and 22) of QNB Stars League during the period, playing crucial roles in the victories against Al Sailiya (2-0), Al Ahli (7-2) and Umm Salal (6-1). The Wolves played out a 2-2 draw with Al Duhail in Week 20.
The wily striker had bagged the best-player award in the month of February, 2019, as well.
Akram, who was a key member of Qatar’s Asian Cup-winning squad early this year, also emerged as the 2018-19 QNB Stars League’s second-best scorer with 26 goals, a feat he shared with Al Duhail’s Moroccan striker Yousef El Arabi.
Akram’s Al Sadd team-mate Baghdad Bounedjah (39 goals) topped the list.
The technical analysis of Akram released by STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the QNB Stars League, showed he spent 388.0 minutes on the pitch.
