Al Duhail face Umm Salal in Week 1 of the 2020-21 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 18:15 at the Education City Stadium on Friday, 4th September, 2020.
Al Duhail will certainly look to start from where they left off, having recently won their seventh league title. They emerged as the 2019-20 season QNB Stars League champions in dramatic fashion, edging Al Rayyan by one point in the final round on 21st August.
Al Duhail will be keen to continue in top gear right from the beginning, as they are sure to face stiff challenge from Al Sadd and Al Rayyan in the title race.
The Red Knights will also take their first two league matches as good preparations for their campaign in the 2020 AFC Champions League, which will resume soon with all West Zone matches being scheduled in Doha.
Both teams continue with Moroccan coaches – Walid Regragui (Al Duhail) and Aziz Ben Askar (Umm Salal).
Umm Salal will not want to leave it late, like they did last season. They eventually finished in the 10th position after staring at relegation. The Orange Fortress even occupied the bottom of the table at one stage.
Umm Salal have reinforced the squad and will be eager to make a strong start in the new season.
