Both Al Gharafa and Al Khor will be confident when they face off in Week 10 of the QNB Stars League on Friday, 26th October. The kick-off is at 19:30 at the Al Gharafa Stadium.
Al Gharafa, who held Al Rayyan to a 1-1 draw last week, will be looking to get back to the winning path. The Cheetahs had beaten Al Arabi 3-0 in Week 8.
Al Gharafa are eighth in the table with 11 points (three victories, four defeats and two draws). They have a goal difference of +1, with 16 goals for and 15 against.
Coached by Frenchman Christian Gourcuff, who replaced Turk Bulent Uygun at the start of this season, Al Gharafa had a disappointing start losing to Qatar SC 1-3 in Week 1.
But they gained much ground since then and had held then leaders Al Sadd to a 1-1 draw in Week 3.
However, Al Gharafa need more wins if they are to break into the top four, like they did last season.
Meanwhile, Al Khor are on a hat-trick of victories following their wins over Al Rayyan (1-0) and Al Kharaitiyat (5-1).
They are 10th in the table with eight points (two victories, four defeats and two draws). The Knights have a goal difference of -4, having scored eight goals and conceded 12.
Al Khor are also under a French coach — Bernard Casoni who replaced Tunisian Adel Sellimi in the last week of September.
They have a match in hand, the Week 5 fixture against Al Sadd that was rescheduled due to the latter’s AFC Champions League commitment.
